Mr. Finkeldei has over 20 years’ experience helping banks, businesses, governmental entities, and individuals achieve their desired results. This experience includes assisting more than a dozen lending institutions and multiple developers and contractors navigate the difficult economic climate that has existed the last few years. In addition to his civil practice, Mr. Finkeldei has served as the attorney for many governmental entities and non-profits, as well as the Lawrence (USD 497) and Baldwin City (USD 348) school districts. Brad was the U.S. News and World Report Lawyer of the Year in 2013 for Education Law, 2014 for Land Use Law, and 2021 in Banking and Finance Law. He also received multiple honors in law school including being named Order of the Coif, selected as articles editor for the University of Kansas Law Review, and was a recipient of the Estate Planning and Tax Procedure awards.
Brad and his wife Amy have two daughters, Raegan and Chaney. When not involved with his children’s activities, Brad enjoys spending some of his free time serving his community, including serving on the Lawrence City Commission since 2019. He was formerly the president of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, president of the board of directors for Ballard Community Services, and the chair of the board of directors for Lawrence Family Promise. Brad has also served on the Lawrence Douglas County Planning Commission. Other activities include being a member of the Lawrence Jayhawk Rotary Club (past president and assistant-governor for the Rotary Clubs of Northeast Kansas) and on the board of directors for Leadership Lawrence (past president and curriculum chair).
