Whitney Casement’s practice focuses on general litigation, employment law, administrative law, and professional licensure actions. Graduating from Washburn Law School in 2012, Whitney started her legal career as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Kansas Attorney General, serving in that position for five years. She has been in private practice since 2017.
Whitney has represented government agencies and officials, businesses, and individuals in state and federal court and before administrative boards and tribunals. She has significant experience with complex motions practice, discovery, depositions, administrative hearings, mediation, settlement negotiations, and jury trials, among other areas. She enjoys advising clients on best practices to avoid litigation. When matters proceed to litigation, Whitney uses her varied experience to help her clients find efficient and effective negotiation and litigation strategies.
Whitney is active with the bar and community. She has served as President of the Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, Secretary for the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, as a board member for the Topeka Bar Association, and as Secretary of the Board for Communities in Schools of Mid-America. She has a passion for raising awareness for mental health issues and teaching mindfulness, including giving many continuing education presentations on these topics. Her interests include hiking, kayaking, playing recreational sports, and watching college basketball. She lives in Topeka with her husband, Daniel, and their daughter.
